MARY: What are you going to do this evening?
JANE: I’m going to the new pub.
MARY: Where is that pub?
JANE: It is near here.
MARY: Do you like it?
JANE: I love it. I went yesterday too. …
MARY: What’s so special about it?
JANE: I’ve met a nice guy
MARY: And?
JANE: And I think I’ll go tomorrow again.
Last Friday, I talked to Jane and I asked her what she was going to do that evening.

Last Friday, I talked to Jane and I asked her what she was going to do that evening.
She told me that she was going to the new pub. So I asked where that pub was and she said it was near there…
I asked her if she liked it and she told me she loved it and that she had been there the day before too!
Then I asked her what was so special about it and she said she had met a nice guy and that she thought she would go the following day again… and ....she didn’t even invite ME!

i have gotten 100% in the first and the second exercise, then 90% in the third one, and only 50% in the last one, i don´t know what it´s wrong in the number 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8.
ReplyDeleteGreat exercises! The sooner we deal with reported speechs, the better we understand fluent English!
ReplyDeleteI was made redundant of the company I'd been working for ten years and last week, I went to a job interview. I’d never been in that situation before, so I’d like to share my impressions.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the manager asked me what were my qualifications and I answered that I'd a degree in Sciences. He told me that he also had a degree and wanted to know which university I studied in. I said I studied in La Laguna and finished in 1990. Later, he asked me if I considered I was the most appropriate for that job and I told him about my experience in similar jobs. Finally, he said goodbye and that I probably were phoned in a few days.
I’d have been explaining my CV if I’d know how short the interview was.
